This week the Philadelphia
Inquirer ran a story dating back to World War II about an American-born Italian princess, an American priest, and their efforts to save classic Italian paintings from the destruction of war. The twist? The priest was Rev. Daniel Falvey, the Villanova librarian.

The collection of paintings from Pietro da Cortona have sat in Falvey for more than fifty years. Now, a project is underway to restore "Triumph of David," shown above.
